Oracle Cloud HCM and ERP Projects:

The preliminary discovery sessions for the Oracle Cloud ERP and HCM implementations were completed and the projects kicked off together on June 7. The HCM (HR) interactive and Design Workshops (IRDW) are currently underway and the ERP (Finance) IRDW sessions will commence on July 25.

Given that the HireTouch, the current UMS employee applicant tracking platform, will be sunsetted at the end of June 2023, it was decided to expedite the implementation of the Oracle Cloud Recruiting module with a target go-live of early May 2023 (Go-live for all remaining HCM modules is targeted for January 2024). During the Onboarding IRDW sessions conducted this month, the team proposed that go-live for the Onboarding module be postponed to Phase 2 of the project in conjunction with the remaining HCM modules. This will avoid maintaining Onboarding in two places (Oracle Cloud and PeopleSoft) and will provide an opportunity to refine existing onboarding processes. The recommendation to postpone the Onboarding go-live is pending the project’s Steering Committee’s review.

CS Reimplementation Project:

The current focus for the CS Reimplementation project is on discovery sessions with ERP Analysts’ Campus Solutions functional and technical architects. While much has been accomplished during the initial discovery sessions related to academic structure, unified catalog, PeopleSoft security setup, etc., additional time is needed to complete the required information gathering and analysis, including discovery sessions with functional area representatives.

During a meeting with the ERP Analyst team to discuss strategies for the yet-to-be-scheduled CS Reimplementation discovery sessions, the concept of conducting a “town hall” for CS stakeholders was raised as a first step to ensure future sessions participants are aware of the project and its overall mission. The CS reimplementation kick-off will be conducted following the completion of the discovery sessions.
