52 — Known cases of UMS students or employees among the more than 30,000 students, faculty, and staff in the University of Maine System community. These data would also include university students or employees known to have an active case of COVID-19, but not necessarily living in the campus region or state.

The above data reflect ACTIVE known cases identified through the UMS asymptomatic screening and verified self-reports of University students, faculty, and staff from independent testing. When an individual completes the isolation period, the active case number shared in the Together for Maine daily update is reduced to reflect that change.  

UMS is reporting 52 known cases today, 1 more case than reported in the last update. Today’s data reflects 12 new cases and 11 completions of isolation since the last update. Prior updates are archived at Together.Maine.edu.

97.1% of UMS students living on campus have verified their vaccination status, as of 9/29/21

85.8% of UMS full-time employees have verified their vaccination status, as of 9/29/21

99% of university-administered quarantine space currently available

93% of university-administered isolation spaces available

COVID Compliance Activities

877 students need to act by Oct. 15 to come into compliance with vaccination and testing requirements or risk being withdrawn from courses by Oct. 31 without a refund.  That is down from the 1,087 students reported when UMS outlined the outreach and support initiatives being utilized to help students meet safety mandates. Asymptomatic Screening Activity 

  • 3,314 Test results in the last 14 days
  • 39 Total positive UMS tests in the last 14 days

The Asymptomatic Screening Dashboard at Together.Maine.edu represents known results on all asymptomatic tests going back to July 22, 2020. About 48 hours passes from the time a test sample is collected and when the results are known.

Vaccination or Negative Test Required for Indoor Group Gatherings of 250 persons:  Effective Oct. 15 UMS will require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 test from all persons (staff, attendees, participants) to gain entrance to an indoor group gathering of 250 people.  Please see visitor access and protocols guidance posted Oct. 1 in the ‘For Everyone’ guidance.
