Together for Maine Daily Briefing and COVID-19 Data Update: 9/6/20

University of Maine System COVID Data by Campus

12 — Known Cases of UMS students or employees in ME CDC Isolation

  • 8 UMaine:
  • 1 UMFK: One new case, see note in campus news
  • 3 USM:

There are no known cases at the other University of Maine System universities.

The above Data reflects ACTIVE known cases identified through the UMS asymptomatic screening and other testing venues.  When an individual is released from an isolation order by the Maine CDC the active case number shared in the Together for Maine daily update is reduced to reflect that change.  UMS is reporting 12 known cases today, 1 more than the number reported in the  9/5/20 update.

Asymptomatic Screening Update for Fall Safe Return

  • 12,722 Tests Results to Date
  • 13 Positives Results Received

The Asymptomatic Screening Dashboard posted at Together.Maine.edu is under redesign to integrate data from new testing partners.  We will continue to provide daily updates of our asymptomatic screening data as part of this daily briefing.  Data presented here represents known results on all asymptomatic tests going back to July 22, 2020.

About 48 hours passes from the time a test sample is collected and when the results are known.

Dear UMFK,

We write to inform you that a student has tested positive for COVID-19 during our asymptomatic testing. The student is currently in isolation and we are beginning the process of having other students quarantine.

Please note that this student has not attended any classes in-person and is not an on-campus student. We will update you further as this evolves.
