  • 4 USM:  2 individuals released from isolation, 2 new cases involving non-residential students

 

There are no known cases at the other University of Maine System universities. 

 

The above Data reflects ACTIVE known cases identified through the UMS asymptomatic screening and other testing venues.  When an individual is released from an isolation order by a public health agency the active case number shared in the Together for Maine daily update is reduced to reflect that change.  UMS is reporting 22 known cases today, eight cases more than the cases reported in the 11/6/20 update.

 

Asymptomatic Screening Update for Fall Safe Return

  • 29,166 Test Results to Date
  • 32 positives results representing new diagnoses of COVID-19

 

The Asymptomatic Screening Dashboard at Together.Maine.edu represents known results on all asymptomatic tests going back to July 22, 2020.  About 48 hours passes from the time a test sample is collected and when the results are known.  

 

UMS News

 

Two residence hall students:  Two cases reported today involve residence hall students, the remaining cases involve commuter students or employees.  The University of Maine System has 30,000 students, staff, and faculty statewide.

 

Eighty Percent Finished with Face-to-Face:  Today is day 75 of 93 of the planned in-person portion of the fall semester.  The UMS transitions to remote instruction at the Thanksgiving break.

Isolation and Quarantine Capacity Remains Very Strong:  94% of UMS quarantine space and 98% of isolation space is available.

USM President Glenn Cummings shared the news with his community yesterday.  

University of Maine School of Law Dean Leigh Saufley committed to a Monday return as well when the one day remote learning news was announced.
