This micro-credential recognizes and validates learners’ intermediate competency in teaching elementary mathematics. Learners meet standards aligned with the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) Model Core Teaching Standards. They:
- Level 1: Gain foundational knowledge of instructional practices for mathematics.
- Level 2: Deepen understanding of number sense, counting, basic facts, the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and learner comprehension from grades K-5.
- Level 3: Apply their skills by creating and implementing two lessons in a K-5 classroom of their choice and reflecting on the experience.
Throughout the pathway, learners are assessed using quizzes, rubric-based assignments, and self-reflection. This training was developed by subject-matter experts from the University of Maine (UMaine) and is designed to be completed in approximately 18-30 hours.

Educators: paraprofessionals, general education teachers, pre-service teachers, special education teachers, and other school staff who help support students’ learning
