Description:

This micro-credential recognizes and validates the learner’s successful completion of the University of Maine System (UMS) 4-H STEM Ambassadors pathway (Levels 1, 2 and 3). Recipients of this micro-credential earned at least one 21st Century Skills micro-badge. Learners completed core training in Positive Youth Development, Experiential Learning and Risk Management and applied their learning in a real-world setting. Leadership was exhibited within their continued role as 4-H STEM Ambassadors or as a senior member of a team. The following skills were developed: collaboration, resilience, independence, written communication and self-awareness through reflection. Recipients of this micro-credential developed competence in facilitating STEM activities with youth. Evidence was verified and assessed, using rubrics and performance feedback, by authorized UMS faculty/staff to ensure quality standards were met.
