University of Maine System Employees and Retirees May Be Eligible to Participate as Plaintiffs
We have been informed that a settlement arising from a class action antitrust lawsuit on behalf of individuals and organizations that purchased or received health insurance provided or administered by a Blue Cross/Blue Shield company has been reached.
The University of Maine System provided health insurance through Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Maine during a portion of the settlement period from February 7, 2008 through December 31, 2011.
Published information from Blue Cross/Blue Shield regarding the settlement indicates that, if approved by the Court, the Settlement establishes a $2.67 billion Settlement Fund.
