This spring, the Unified Catalog working group is devoting its time and energy to transfer: procedures, policies, practices, and (most importantly) outcomes for students. Having conducted an initial review of UMS transfer activity, the working group will meet in February with a student focus group comprising community college transfers, internal transfers, and multi-campus students from all of our universities. We will use their insights about their experiences to formalize a set of recommendations for improving transfer that we will share with our presidents, provosts, UMS Faculty Governance Council, and faculty senate/assembly presidents in April or early May. We are eager to learn from our students as we work to strengthen conditions for their success.
