Meet the System-Wide Advising Group (SWAG)

Student success and completion is of paramount importance to all of us at the University of Maine System (UMS) and advising students is an essential component. The UMS System-Wide Advising Group (SWAG) is a collaborative community of advising leaders and practitioners representing each University of Maine System institution. SWAG meets monthly to share, discuss, and learn more about national, regional and state-wide efforts to improve college completion, identify opportunities for success, share strategies already in place at our campuses, and explore effective advising strategies for implementation.

This site is used to share tools, strategies, and organizational structures that help faculty, professional advisors, and other student-focused colleagues can be more effective and efficient in their advising practices. As you explore, you will find SWAG-sponsored “Lunch and Learn” presentations that are focused on best practices, approaches, and strategies for student success.
