Financial Services & Accounting

How Can We Help?

Every business needs business people. The flexibility and versatility of working in financial services and accounting allow you to work in any industry and for any company. For students, internships are a great way to build your network, forge connections with employers, and find lasting employment to get you where you want to go.

Students, how can an internship in Financial Services or Accounting benefit you?

  • If you’re starting with little to no prior experience, this is an opportunity to develop transferable, soft skills that will enable you to pivot between organizations, roles, and industries in the future, build new connections, and identify potential employers.
  • If you have more professional experience, you can leverage an internship experience to change industries or organizations, enhance your existing skills, and apply your learning in real time.

Events

Events are an excellent way for employers to share jobs and internships and for students to explore various industries and build a network with future employers.

The Maine Business School (MBS) located in Orono at the University of Maine hosts a handful of events throughout the year, including:
– Career & Internship Fair (Fall) is hosted in the Atrium of the Donald P. Corbett Business building at the University of Maine. No Registration Required
– Accounting Firm Night (September) features local and national accounting firms, such as BerryDunn, Baker Newman Noyes, and Alibn, Randall & Bennett. Registration Required
– Industry Exploration Nights highlight a specific industry, like insurance, banking, wealth management, and more. These events are informational and networking opportunities. Registration Required
