- If you have taught for five of the last seven years under the teaching endorsement being sought in Maine, have graduated from any state-approved teacher education program, and have a valid certificate in the endorsement being sought, you may qualify for Professional Certification in Maine.
- If you graduated from any state-approved teacher education program and have a valid certificate in the endorsement being sought you may be eligible for a Conditional Certificate.
- If you did not attend an approved program, your application will be reviewed in our normal transcript analysis pathway.
- We recommend submitting your application with a resume, valid teaching certificate, all transcripts and any tests you may have taken.

Additional Information: National – Completion of an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited doctoral degree in clinical psychology is only one of several requirements for licensure, as specified by individual states. Other requirements include supervised postdoctoral clinical hours, satisfactory performance on a national licensing exam (Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology), etc. Our APA accredited program is designed to meet licensure for the vast majority of states; however, given the local variation in requirements, we do not assure that graduates meet requirements for licensure in all states, territories, or international locations. In line with other APA-accredited doctoral programs in clinical psychology, we have included the following statement on our departmental web page: Our program adheres to APA accreditation standards and prepares students for entry into the profession of Clinical Psychology. Given the varied and changing requirements across jurisdictions, we cannot assure, nor is it our responsibility, that graduates will meet all requirements for licensure in all states, territories, or international locations. Doctoral trainees in this program are encouraged to become familiar with licensing laws applicable to their career plans and discuss their curricular plan with their major professor and/or the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) as needed.
