Additional Information: National Licensure. The VTNE is used as part of a voluntary credential process in the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming. It is required for all other states. Students also must obtain a state license after passing the national board exam to practice in most states. Also, not all states required a veterinary technician to become licensed.
