MGI Wraps Up November Celebration of GIS

The Maine Geospatial Institute’s celebration of World GIS Day is not just for one day – we celebrate for the whole month of November! Thank you to all participants in our events: A World GIS Day panel of University of Maine System students sharing their mapping projects: Here are the 2022 projects (external site). You can also check out the 2021 recordings (external site) for more amazing projects!

MGI also held its annual crowdsourced mapping project. The result: an interactive map showing Maine communities in action (external site). Everyone who participated before December 1, 2022, was entered into a random drawing to win an ArcGIS for Personal Use license – a $100 value – so that you can map like the professionals do! Plus, new this year – free Premium Subscriptions to StoryMaps, Esri’s new, powerful, personal storytelling tool.

It’s not too late to map your Maine community! Add your 2022 entry now, and see the other 2022 entries here.  You can also see the 2020 and 2021 entries!

Be sure to check the Maine Geospatial Institute website frequently for new events.
