About Your CRA

Jen (she/they) comes to the University of Maine from a Midwestern liberal arts university where she was an associate professor of English. As the former director of the university’s women’s resource center, Jen provided resources for reproductive and sexual health, facilitated sexual violence prevention education, and served on the campus sexual violence prevention task force and bystander intervention team. They also volunteered with local sexual violence support services, helping survivors through a crisis line and in hospitals during forensic exams.

Jen currently serves on multidisciplinary teams for sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking across Maine. She is a statewide trainer for Human Trafficking Identification and Response.

Jen has a PhD in Rhetoric and Professional Communication from New Mexico State University and is returning to school for a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maine. In their free time, Jen enjoys spending time with their dog Charlie and cats Penny and Kyle, going on walks to pet neighborhood cats, and playing video games—most of all Red Dead Redemption 2.

Jen is also the CRA for the University of Maine.
