Where ideas take shape—and Maine businesses grow.

Launched in January 2026, the Business & Law Clinic is a pioneering collaboration between the University of Maine Graduate School of Business, University of Maine School of Law, supported by the Maine Graduate and Professional Center. The clinic brings together MBA students and law students to deliver business support and legal counsel to under-resourced early-stage entrepreneurs and companies across Maine.

The Business & Law Clinic strengthens Maine’s small business economy by offering no-cost business and legal services to startups and new ventures that may otherwise lack access to professional advisors. By lowering barriers to expertise, the clinic helps promising ideas survive, scale, and create jobs, fueling economic growth throughout the state.

The Business & Law Clinic builds on the momentum of UMS TRANSFORMS, a University of Maine System initiative supported by the Harold Alfond Foundation that established the Maine Graduate and Professional Center as a hub for graduate education, professional development, entrepreneurship and innovation.
