UMaine:  The University of Maine’s York County Cooperative Extension Office is located in a county-owned building in Springvale that also includes Nasson Health, a provider of health services participating in the State’s COVID-19 testing

To help reduce foot traffic at the facility at a time when there may be expanded demand for testing services, the York County Office of Cooperative Extension will operate and deliver its services remotely while there are increased epidemiological concerns in the region.

All of UMaine’s Cooperative Extension offices operated remotely through the spring and summer and have played a major role in the University of Maine System’s response and state service during the pandemic.

UMA:  Asymptomatic testing capacity will be available to students and staff learning and working through the University of Maine at Augusta’s Rumford Center in response to an outbreak and epidemiological investigation underway involving employees at the ND Paper Mill.

UMA’s Rumford Center provides local access to more than 60 full degree and certificate programs.

The University of Maine System is currently implementing the phase three surveillance and monitoring component of its Together for Maine asymptomatic screening strategy.  Phase three began September 14 and involves several rounds of required random and directed sampling.  The directed sampling UMA is utilizing to increase testing at the Rumford Center is applied at the direction of University leaders.

Approximately 2,000 University of Maine System students, faculty, and staff will be tested in each ten-day round of random and directed sampling until the Thanksgiving-break transition to remote instruction.
