University To Update Guidance Based on Governor Mills’ Plan To Restart the Maine Economy

Maine Governor Janet Mills unveiled her plan to Restart the Maine Economy on April 28. The plan includes a staged approach over upcoming calendar months to reopening the state.

The guidance the Governor provides will be important to the University’s Safe Return planning but will not have an immediate impact on existing University guidance around remote work through May 17, 2020, group gatherings, travel, and plans for distance instruction. University leaders and members of the Fall 2020 Safe Return Planning Committee are now reviewing the Governor’s orders and related communication. Existing guidance for employees and students will be updated in May and June to align with the Governor’s plan and any adjustments the Governor may issue as this situation continues to evolve.
