Whether your intent is to update your knowledge in your current profession, finish a degree, start a new career path or return for personal growth, it is never too late.

Making the decision to go to college for the first time is an exciting life choice.  It can also be a daunting one, as it may have been many years since you have taken classes.  Many of the students in the University of Maine System are also adults aged 25 or older—including more than 36% of all students enrolled in degree programs and more than 60% of those attending part-time.

To help adult students navigate the path to a degree, the University of Maine System has established local “navigators” to help our adult students understand the terminology, complete the application process, apply for scholarships, and enroll in classes. Our navigators will help students achieve their educational goals through activities such as applying to a university, choosing a major, finding financial assistance, and registering for courses.
