This micro-credential recognizes and validates the learner’s successful completion of the University of Maine System (UMS) Career Prepared pathway (Levels 1, 2 and 3). Learners used the results of a self-assessment to develop a Career Action Plan that included the articulation of skill development, career goals and identification of values, interests and transferable skills. Learners took action and reflected on the attainment of their learning goals. Learners successfully completed at least one career-related, work-based experience such as an internship or approved employment opportunity. Learners developed employability skills by receiving a positive performance evaluation from their work-based supervisor and also earned a 21st Century Skills micro-badge. The recipients of the micro-credential developed skills in career exploration, resume and cover letter writing and job search strategies. They demonstrated competence in articulating their skills development with potential employers. Evidence was assessed, using rubrics and performance feedback, by authorized UMS faculty/staff and work-based supervisors to ensure quality standards were met.
