A Letter from the Chair of the
Steering Committee
Dear Colleagues:
Since the summer of 2006, several applications from Oracle/PeopleSoft's Campus Solutions software have been successfully implemented in the University of Maine System, including Campus Community, Admissions & Recruitment, Student Records, and Student Financials (the latter two in spring and summer of 2008).
Next to come will be Financial Aid in February of 2009.
This is an exciting time for our students, faculty and staff, and represents the culmination of several years of hard work and dedication by many student services and technical team members from our universities.
Our new system features powerful web-based tools that will allow us to perform our jobs and to serve our students more efficiently than in the past. As additional Campus Solutions applications are implemented, we are enjoying even more improvement in our administrative computing capability. This new technology permits us to retire our outdated and unsupported legacy systems.
It is important that we all work with patience and cooperation during these periods of transition and training for Campus Solutions. Together we can readily meet the challenge of learning new skills and new tasks while keeping in mind the final goal: our enhanced ability to do our jobs and to serve our University of Maine System students well.
