Training for Financials Implementation
July 5, 2005 is the go-live date for implementation of Phase I of the Peoplesoft® Financial Management module, including Purchasing, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Travel & Expenses (reimbursements), and a new Chart of Accounts.
Training began in late summer 2004 with the overview class "How Business Will Change." This class provides:
- Introduction to the new Chart of Accounts and tools for translating from FAST account numbers.
- Training on GL Inquiry Pages, a new tool to replace WebFA$T.
In spring semester 2005 classes are being offered that provide:
- Training for users who enter invoices, pay invoices, and/or process purchase orders and expenses.
- Training for users who create journal entries, create requisitions, and/or approve requisitions.
Training will be instructor-led on the campuses; training for small, less-complex tasks will be accomplished through manuals and documentation.
"Just-in-Time Training" is the goal; every attempt will be made to train users as closely as possible to the time they will use the new system.
