Frequently Asked Questions: Campus Solutions
Why are we changing from ISIS and WebDSIS?
Our legacy systems are decades old, outdated, and unsupported. Campus Solutions is web-based and allows end-users easy access to information from any Internet-connected computer. Campus Solutions will integrate with our Financials and HR databases.
What is Campus Solutions?
Campus Solutions is Oracle's name for their student administration services software, comprising Student Records, Student Financials, Student Financial Aid, and the already-up-and-running Admissions & Recruitment and Campus Community.
What does it mean for me?
Depending on your job responsbilities, it could mean nothing or a lot! If you register students, enter grades, communicate with student advisees, or receive enrollment deposits or payments, for some examples, you be performing those tasks in the new system.
When will I start using it?
Implementation of the various bits of Campus Solutions are being phased in as they naturally occur during the academic year business cycle. The big one coming in the spring of 2008 is registration for classes for Fall 2008.
Will I be trained? Yes. When? "Just in time." How? You'll be using a new tool called UPK that will allow you to access a multitude of training resources and documentation right at your desk on your own workstation. Of course, classroom instruction will also be available.
What about the faculty members in my department...how and when will they be trained?
Information sessions and training opportunities will be offered to all faculty members, staff and students.
Where can I get more information about this?
Visit the MaineStreet General Information website at http://www.maine.edu/system/mainestreet/ and/or contact your campus' representatives to the various IDP groups. The October 2007 issue of News from MaineStreet has a good list; find a link to back issues of News on the website.
