Google recently added Google Wave to Google Apps and we have enabled it for the maine.edu domain.
Google Wave is an experimental real-time communication and collaboration tool. You can find details at Google Wave.
Since this is a Google Labs application, it does not receive the same level of support as other Google applications:
- Support is avaliable only through the Google Wave Help Center and Help Forum
- There is no guarantee as to the future (if any) of Google Wave.
You can access Google Wave at http://wave.maine.edu

Today UMS ITS shut down the mainframe. After many long hours of work by many people the time has come.
We thank Alvah and Peter for their dutiful and conscientious work and wish them the best in the new year.
Many thanks also go out to all of those who sat the long quiet hours of the night with only the drone of the machines to keep them company.
Tonight the mainframe sits in its final sleep alone.
May all have a Happy and Peaceful New Year.

At the conclusion of the spring 2009 semester, faculty, advising staff, and students identified 13 top priority issues for improvement in the Student and Faculty Centers in MaineStreet’s Campus Solutions. During the summer, all 13 of these issues were addressed and these improvements have now been added to MaineStreet. The changes will be in place at the beginning of the fall 2009 semester.
Improvements such as these will be regularly implemented as the University of Maine System continues to move forward using MaineStreet. These are the first steps in an ongoing process of response to campus end-user needs.
MaineStreet Financials was upgraded to 9.0 on April 13. Users note some “look and feel” changes in the appearance of screens. No underlying business processes have been changed.
MaineStreet Financials was initially implemented in July 2005.
