Workers’ Compensation Insurance Verification
The University of Maine System is self-insured for worker’s compensation insurance coverage through a State of Maine approved program.
Because the University is self-insured, there is not a standard Certificate of Insurance available to verify coverage. Therefore, verification of coverage to individuals or entities is accomplished through a letter from Risk Management. A copy of this letter is available to provide verification of coverage.

However, if an original letter is required, contact Risk Management with the following information for the entity requesting proof of workers’ compensation insurance: name and address; mail, phone and fax; and reasons for the request (contract/agreement/activity or event).
