Robin Sherman, Director, US:IT Project Management Office

Robin’s early career path included journalism, counseling, and education until the world of technology captured her interest. Her Information Technology career started at UMaine in 1998 with ASAP Media Services. That led to positions at UMaine as a Faculty Development Specialist, IT Help Desk Coordinator, FirstClass Email Administrator, and Learning Management System Administrator (WebCT & Blackboard). Robin moved to the UMS System Office in 2004, and has served in a variety of positions since then including ERP Trainer, Manager of Training, and Student Financials Business Analyst. Currently, Robin serves as Director of the US:IT Project Management Office. In this role,  Robin regularly draws upon her collection of experiences in IT over the years, along with her background in communication and education.

Karen Walsh, IT Project Associate

Prior to joining the US:IT Project Management Office, Karen was the Administrative & Financial Manager for USM’s IT Department, a position that allowed her to interact with several departments and vendors external to IT. Past careers included work as a paralegal, Maine real estate agent, partner in a residential home construction business and sales manager. Karen’s prior experience overseeing and coordinating multiple construction projects combined with her legal, sales and financial background help to enhance her project management skills. Karen is also a member of the US:IT Communications Team. She recognizes the importance of promoting timely, clear and concise two-way communication, a vital process for healthy organizations and successful project management.
