My MaineStreet (UMS) Account
IMPORTANT NOTE for CURRENT STUDENTS:
If you already use a maine.edu email account, FirstClass, Blackboard, or WebCT, then you have already activated your UMS Account. There is no need to go through the activation process again.
How do I start to use my MaineStreet (UMS) account?
When you applied or were admitted to a UMS university, you were assigned your Student ID number (also sometimes called the MaineStreet ID) and an "account activation key." Armed with this seven-digit ID number and the account activation key, go to the web page:
http://mail.maine.edu/um/ActivateAccount
and follow the directions there to activate your account and set a password of your choice.
After you've set your password, you'll be told your new UMS User ID (generally takes the form of firstname.lastname) and your new UMS email address. If your User ID is john.doe, then the email address that goes with it is john.doe@maine.edu. You would use john.doe to log in, and use john.doe@maine.edu for email.
Need tips on choosing your password? Visit Picking and protecting a password.
Don't have your activation key but need to set a password? Get a new activation key from your campus Computer Services (or IT) Help Desk.
Forgotten your password? Visit Forgotten your password? for help.
Want to change your password, get into your email account, or forward your mail from that account to some other email address? Visit UMS email and account management.
