Each year in March Trustees review candidates for tenure
BANGOR – The University of Maine System Board of Trustees will meet on Sunday and Monday at the University of Maine at Machias. Each year in March, Trustees review candidates for tenure. This year, 26 candidates from five of the seven universities are being considered.

Also at the meeting, Trustees will consider proposals for facilities improvement and relocation:
- UMA is proposing moving the University College Center in Saco from its present location on Saco Island to the Saco Valley Shopping Center;
- UMPI seeks approval to proceed with the Folsom/Pullen Science Classroom and Laboratory Upgrade;
- UMF seeks funds for a long-planned project to renovate Dearborn Gymnasium, including work to HVAC and electrical service to the building; and,
- University of Maine seeks to update the scope of an expansion project at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center in Orono, funded by grants and bond money.
